Vaughn Laptiste is a 2026-2027 Teach Plus Indiana Alumni Policy Fellow and secondary mathematics teacher at Christel House Watanabe High School in Indianapolis, where he teaches Algebra 2, Quantitative Reasoning, Proactive Resolution in Mathematical Education, and career information and exploration. He coaches the school’s chess team, the defending Indianapolis Public Schools champions. Vaughn served on the Indiana Department of Education’s Algebra 2 and Fourth-Year Course Advisory Group and High-Quality Curricular Materials Review Committee. Vaughn earned a BA in mathematics from Anderson University, MA in secondary mathematics education from Western Governors University, and is pursuing a DSL at Omega Graduate School.
