April Larkin is a 2026-2027 Teach Plus Arkansas & Mississippi Policy Fellow and 8th grade math teacher at Northeast Lauderdale Middle School in Meridian, Mississippi. She serves as a leadership team member and department chair. She previously served as the Mississippi Association of Educators Board Director for the East Central Region. April was named Lauderdale County School District Middle School Teacher of the Year (2025-2026), Northeast Lauderdale Middle School Teacher of the Year (2025-2026), and Jeffery Wilson’s State Farm Teacher of the Month (2023). She earned a BS in mathematics and MA in teaching from Jackson State University and an EdS in educational leadership from Arkansas State University.
