La’Tia Taylor is a 2019-20 Teach Plus Illinois Senior Policy Fellow. La’Tia teaches kindergarten at Hendricks Elementary and is a Framework Specialist for Chicago Public Schools. Within her district, La’Tia has served as an instructional leadership team member, primary team lead, math instructional lead, and local school council teacher rep. She was selected to serve as a teacher representative for the Revised Kindergarten Report Card for Chicago Public Schools and was selected to be on Chicago Public School’s Teacher Advisory Council (2017-2018), in which she addressed teacher recruitment and retention. La’Tia has been awarded CPS Network 9 Outstanding Teacher Award, Teach2Give Teacher Honoree (Class of 2019), and was nominated for the 2018 Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Teaching. La’Tia graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a BA in Early Childhood Education and earned her MA in Educational Leadership (Type 75) from Roosevelt University. She is pursuing a doctoral degree (EdD) from Roosevelt University in Higher Education Leadership.
