Latosha Guy is a Teach Plus California Teaching Policy Fellow. Latosha is a National Board Certified reading/language arts teacher at King/Drew Magnet High School in South Los Angeles. Latosha has taught reading intervention, language development, Advanced Placement English, and a special all male English Literature course, and has also been a teacher librarian. She has facilitated professional development and literacy trainings at her school, and nationally through the National Alliance of Black School Educators. Latosha has also sponsored clubs and student organizations, in addition to creating schoolwide literacy events. She has been recognized by the United States Department of Education’s Initiative on Excellence for African-Americans, and is featured in “A View from the Top: Education at King Drew.” She is the State Superintendent of Education nominee to the California Writing Project Advisory Board, an America Achieves Resident Fellow, a facilitator for the Delta Sigma Theta Teacher Efficacy Campaign, and an online facilitator for the NEA ed Communities.
