A National Board Certified teacher, Lauryn England teaches 3rd grade at 99th Street Elementary in the neighborhood of Watts in South Los Angeles. Lauryn taught 1st and 2nd grade for five years at an urban school in Nashville, Tennessee, before moving to Los Angeles in 2013 to pursue her MEd in the Principal Leadership Institute at the University of California, Los Angeles. That same year, she was named the Random House Children’s Books Magic Tree House Educator of the Year, and was the recipient of the Tennessee Education Association’s Distinguished New Teacher Award. In 2013-2014, Lauryn taught 2nd grade at a charter school in South Los Angeles, where she mentored other teachers and provided professional development in her role as lead K-2 Teacher. Lauryn earned her BS in elementary and special education from Vanderbilt University.
