Cassie Lawson is a 2026-2027 Teach Plus California Policy Fellow and literacy resource teacher at Lincoln High School in San Diego. She is the freshman success team’s literacy interventionist, focusing on schoolwide literacy initiatives to close reading gaps. Cassie designed, piloted, and scaled a middle school creative writing course for San Diego Unified School District that was adopted into the district’s course of study. She is an Induction Mentor with the University of California, San Diego, supporting new teachers. Cassie earned a BA in English and MA in education from San Diego State University.
