Penny Lee-Cox is a 2022-2023 Teach Plus Illinois Affinity Group Facilitator and is a 4th grade teacher at Nob Hill Elementary in Country Club Hills. She has participated in the SWAGG Mentoring Program; NCLB Committee; Racial and Social Justice Club: and the Homewood Flossmoor Parent Club. Penny is an Illinois Certified Contact Tracer (2020); State of Illinois Covid-19 Ambassador (2020); and a member of Congresswoman Robin Kelly’s Education Advisory Board (2021). Penny Lee-Cox is a member of the NEA Resolutions Committee, the IEA Legislative and Bylaw Committee, and the IEA Board of Directors. As a Board of Directors member, she represents Ethnic Minorities in the Second Congressional District and the Suburban South Regions of IEA. She earned a BA in Elementary Education with a middle school endorsement in English/Language Arts, a BA in English, and an MA of Science in Reading with a Reading Specialist Endorsement from Governors State University.
