Anaité Letona is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus California Policy Fellow. Anaité is the 6th grade resource program and intensive reading instruction teacher for students with an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) at Harvest Park Middle School in Pleasanton, California. Anaité focuses on helping students who have IEPs be seen in their classroom content and pedagogy, advocates for and supports inclusive spaces for all learners, and teaches reading foundational skills to build student access to their academic journey. She has supported her professional learning communities to go through the process of identifying and applying inclusive opportunities in their teaching. Anaité began teaching in San Ramon, California, in a self-contained classroom after coming to education as a second career. Anaité earned a BA in liberal studies from San Francisco State University, an MA in human resources and organizational development from University of San Francisco, and a multiple subject and education specialist credential from California State University East Bay.
