Dr. Marcus Lewis is a 2026-2027 Teach Plus Arkansas & Mississippi Policy Fellow. He is a high school pre-educator teacher and basketball coach at Newport High School in Newport, Arkansas. Marcus serves as chapter advisor for Educators Rising. He previously served as a physical education, health, and life science teacher. Marcus was named Arkansas 3A-3 Coach of the Year (2026). He earned a BS in education in kinesiology from the University of Central Arkansas, an MS in education in educational leadership from Arkansas State University, two EdS degrees from Arkansas State University and South College, and an EdD in educational leadership from South College.
