Kristin Lewis is a 4th grade teacher and UIL writing coach at Wood Elementary School in Arlington, Texas. She focuses on vertical alignment across grade levels in reading and writing to create authentic differentiated instruction meeting the needs of all learners. Kristin was named campus Teacher of the Year (2019) and A.W.A.R.E. (Arlington Will Award and Recognize Excellence) 2nd-4th grade Winner (2022). Kristin spent three summers teaching English abroad in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, and served as the team’s elementary school team leader and curriculum writer in 2005 and 2006. Over her 16 year career in teaching, she has taught grades 1-5 with the most significant experience in 4th grade. She earned her BA in Elementary Education with a concentration in Reading from Dallas Baptist University.
