Joe Dan M. Lovato is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus New Mexico Alumni Policy Fellow. Joe Dan is the middle school principal at Turquoise Trail Charter School in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Prior to becoming a principal, Joe Dan taught middle school science and health and led the restorative justice program at a charter high school. Joe Dan is a New Mexico Public Education Department Teacher of the Year Finalist and New Mexico Teach Plus Policy Fellow of the Year. Joe Dan is a board member for Solare Collegiate Charter School where he serves as the secretary and is the academic excellence committee chair. He earned a BA in education and an MA in curriculum and instruction from Eastern New Mexico University. He possesses a Level III Administration license, a Level III-A K-8 Elementary license, and a Level III-A Pre K-12 Special Education license with endorsements in science and health.
