Leslie Maben is a 2024-2025 Teach Plus Pennsylvania Equity Leadership Institute member and 7th and 8th grade English language arts teacher at Pittsburgh King PreK-8 in Pittsburgh. She is the Instructional Teacher Leader for all content teachers in grades 6-8 and a member of King’s leadership team. Leslie began her career in education with Pittsburgh Public Schools in 1997 as a paraprofessional and was promoted to teacher in 2002. She has been a Reading Coach and Clinical Resident Instructor. She earned Highly Qualified Permanent Teacher Certification (2003) and was selected by the University of Pittsburgh Fulbright-Hays Group Project to study abroad in Ghana (2009). Leslie earned her BS in elementary education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and MSEd from Duquesne University.
