Wendy Maestas-Padilla is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus California Emergent Bilingual Change Agent. Wendy is a multilingual teacher on special assignment at the Hacienda La Puente Unified School District in the City of Industry, California. She focuses on multilingual learners, teachers of multilingual learners, and assists in the district’s Migrant Education Program. Wendy was a part of the leadership team and English Learner Facilitator for 10 years at Sparks Elementary in La Puente, California. Wendy began teaching in 2002 and has taught various grades between pre-k and 5th grade. She earned her BA in liberal studies, Cross-cultural, Language, and Academic Development (CLAD) teaching credential and a MA in education from the University of La Verne, California. Wendy is currently pursuing National Board Certification and her EdD in educational leadership from Chapman University
