Maria Maloney is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus Massachusetts Policy Fellow. Maria is the early childhood school counselor serving pre-K through 3rd grade for Monson Public Schools in Monson, Massachusetts. She currently is the district team leader for counseling services and focuses on teaching social and emotional learning through tier 1 and tier 2 services as well as ensuring inclusion for all students. Maria has been providing counseling in the Monson Public School since 2010. She is active in the Massachusetts School Counselor Association serving as the co-facilitator of the Elementary Special Interest Group and the co-leader of the MASCA Reads Book Club. She earned her BA in social work from Western New England University, and her MA in social work from Smith College. She also earned an MA in educational administration from Endicott College. She holds two post-master’s certificates in advanced clinical supervision and advanced clinical treatment of children and adolescents.
