Melissa Marcucci is a 2025-2026 Teach Plus California Policy Fellow and Teacher on Special Assignment in Ceres Unified School District in Ceres, California, leading programs and initiatives that support college and career readiness. Previously, she taught high school science courses, was lead teacher, and coordinated science-related teams and fairs. Melissa served as a professional developer for the Sacramento Area Science Project (2010–2024), K-12 Alliance at WestEd Cadre member for California Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) Early Implementers Initiative in Northern California (2014–2020), and professional learning provider for California NGSS Collaborative Rollout Events (2015–2019). She is California Association of Science Educators President and is a nationally rated gymnastics judge. Melissa earned a BS in both biological anthropology and exercise physiology from the University of California, Davis; MEd from the University of California, Davis; and holds a Clear Single Subject Teaching credential in science from the University of California, Davis.
