Maria Onaindia is a 2021-2022 Teach Plus Illinois Policy Fellow who teaches 11th grade Honors Pre-calculus and Introduction to Computer Science at Rauner College Prep in Chicago. At Rauner, Maria leads the Math Department, Women’s Empowerment Club, and serves on an equity committee focused on antiracist classroom practices and restorative justice. Maria is a member of the Noble Network Instructional Core Design Team and a content lead for the network. She previously was a founding teacher and teacher coach at Henderson Collegiate High School in Henderson, North Carolina. She graduated from Wellesley College with a BA in Economics and is currently pursuing her MAT in secondary mathematics from Relay Graduate School of Education.
