Marianne Mazely-Allen is a Teach Plus Indiana Teaching Policy Fellow. She has taught all levels of English grades 7-12. Marianne has co-chaired the North Central Association Accreditation Committee, served on scholarship committees, and has been a building representative for the teachers’ association. At the district level, she represents her school at curriculum meetings and serves on the new course adoption committee. She chairs the English department and teaches English language and composition and English literature and composition to juniors and seniors. In 2001, she was named High School Teacher of Excellence by the NCTE, Teacher of the Year for Vigo County in 2012, and was a finalist for Indiana Teacher of the Year in 2013. She graduated from Indiana University with a BS in Education, majoring in English and minoring in speech and drama. Marianne earned her MEd, securing endorsements in English and speech, and a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction from Indiana State University.
