Mariesther Flores is a 2018-19 Teach Plus Texas Policy Fellow. Mariesther is a 1st grade bilingual and International Baccalaureate (IB) certified teacher at the REAL Learning Academy charter school. She is an active member of the Positive Behavior Intervention Systems (PBIS) team and the Primary Years Programme (PYP) leadership committee on her campus. Mariesther served two years as a bilingual literacy tutor for the AmeriCorps program, ACE: A Community for Education, working with economically-disadvantaged K-2 students at Decker Elementary school in Manor, TX. Mariesther graduated from Saint Cloud State University in Minnesota with a BA in Sociology with a minor in Women’s Studies.
