Marilyn Hande is a 2021-22 Teach Plus California Policy Fellow who teaches transitional kindergarten at Columbus Elementary School in Glendale. Marilyn facilitates social-emotional learning and mindfulness workshops for staff and students and has facilitated a county Early Childhood Education Professional Learning Community. Marilyn was selected by the California Department of Education, Early Instruction and Support Division Preschool Instructional Network (CPIN) to partake in online video training modules modeling hands-on instruction in social-emotional development, English language literacy, and mathematics for other transitional kindergarten teachers. She graduated from California State University, Northridge with a BA in Liberal Studies, earned a MA in Education Reading Specialist from California State University, Los Angeles, received a MEd in Educational Administration and her EdD in Educational Leadership from Concordia University.
