Martha Alba-González is a 2021 Teach Plus California Emergent Bilingual Change Agent who teaches kindergarten in the Dual Immersion Program at Cesar Chavez Elementary in Long Beach Unified School District. Martha is a first-generation college graduate and former English Learner who advocates for biliteracy, spending most of her career teaching early literacy and Dual Language. Martha has been involved in several leadership roles including being a trainer of teachers in Technological, Pedagogical and Content Knowledge (TPACK) as well as developing Spanish Language Arts Unit Guides in collaboration with District ELA curriculum leaders. Martha is an alumna fellow of the Cotsen Art of Teaching Program where her focus was on Cognitive Guided Instruction. Martha received her BA in Liberal Studies from California State University Long Beach and holds an MS in Educational Administration from Pepperdine University.
