Courtney Martin

Courtney Martin is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus Texas Policy Fellow. Courtney is a 4th grade educator at Outley Elementary in Houston, Texas. He proudly represents his campus by serving as math lead teacher, a member of the Shared Decision Committee, and the chair of the District Alief Education Improvement Council. Martin was named the Houston Area Alliance of Black School Educators Teacher of the Year for his campus. Martin is entering his 11th year as an educator and began his education career in Texarkana ISD where he taught 1st and 2nd grades. Martin has led his students to significant gains and has been selected to participate in the Rice University Elementary Model STEM Lab program for the 2023-2024 academic year. He holds both a BS and MS degree from Texas A&M University-Texarkana and has completed a principal certification program at Stephen F. Austin University.
