Kurt Mastrantonio

Kurt Mastrantonio is a 2024-2025 Teach Plus Michigan Policy Fellow and a family and consumer sciences teacher at Brighton High School in Brighton. Kurt is dedicated to teaching health, life, and career literacy, exemplified by his service on his school’s leadership team and his work in the career and technical education world, including piloting a fashion design and merchandising course. He previously served on his region’s Health Educator Learning Network Steering Committee, identifying youth community health needs and determining education-based solutions. Kurt is the secretary and membership chair of the Michigan Association of Family & Consumer Sciences (MiFCS). He earned his AA in liberal arts and general studies from Oakland Community College and his BS in family and consumer sciences education with a minor in political science education from Western Michigan University. He is pursuing his MS in health promotion from The University of The Cumberlands.
