Abbey McAndrew is a 2024-2025 Teach Plus Massachusetts Policy Fellow and a 4th grade English language development and special education teacher at McMahon Elementary School in Holyoke. She supports other teachers in her role as advanced teacher and promotes differentiated instruction for all students on the District MTTS Team. Abbey has served on her district’s teacher advisory group, teacher retention group, and several curriculum selection committees. In 2022, she was a recipient of the Pioneer Valley Excellence in Teaching Award. Abbey has spent her summers supporting youth development at the Holyoke Boys & Girls Club for more than a decade and is a teacher leader and coach in the Generation Teach STEAM Summer Academy. She earned her BA in English and cultural studies with minors in psychology and peace and justice studies from Fairfield University and an MA in teaching from Mount Holyoke College.
