Heather McCoy is a 2022-2023 Teach Plus Illinois Affinity Group Facilitator and a middle school teacher leader, National Seed Leader, and Aspire Mentor at Nettelhorst School in Chicago. Heather served as an adult educator for the Spanish Coalition for Better Jobs where she assisted adult learners working to earn their G.E.D. She has taught grades pre-k to sixth grade in Chicago. She began her teaching experience at Metropolitan Primary Academy, a private school founded and managed by her family on Chicago’s West Side. She is a current board member of HIP Inc where she serves as the secretary. She earned her BA in Organizational Management, a MAT from Concordia University, with an endorsement in Social Science, and is a current PhD candidate.
