Tamika McGee is a 2024-2025 Teach Plus Pennsylvania Equity Leadership Institute member and 2nd grade teacher at Turtle Creek Elementary STEAM Academy in Pittsburgh. She is also a teacher liaison and active member on the Restorative Practices Committee at her school, as part of the University of Pittsburgh’s Just Discipline Project. Tamika’s teaching career began in Prince George’s County, Maryland, and she has taught 2nd and 5th grade in the Woodland Hills School District. She led the district’s initiative to target summer learning loss, serving as the summer camp program coordinator for Woodland Hills Opportunity Camp. Tamika earned her BA in business administration from the University of Pittsburgh, an MEd in elementary education from Carlow University, and a Principal K-12 Certificate from Point Park University.
