Tamika McGee is a 2026-2027 Teach Plus Literacy Forward Network – PA Teacher Leader and 2nd grade teacher at Turtle Creek Elementary STEAM Academy in Pittsburgh. She is an active member of her school’s math committee. Tamika integrates robotics and hands-on experiences to deepen engagement, strengthen problem-solving skills, and create opportunities for collaborative learning. She began her teaching career as a 3rd grade teacher in Maryland in 2006, joining the Woodland Hills School District the following year. Tamika, who also has taught 4th and 5th grades, led her district’s initiative to reduce summer learning loss by serving as coordinator for the Woodland Hills Opportunity Camp (2021-2023). She currently works with the district’s STEAM director, piloting robotics initiatives in her classroom. Tamika earned a BS in business administration from the University of Pittsburgh, MEd in elementary education from Carlow University, and a Principal K–12 Certificate from Point Park University.
