Andrew McKenzie is a 2026-2027 Teach Plus Indiana Alumni Policy Fellow and physical education teacher at Fairview Elementary School in Bloomington, Indiana. He leads students through social-emotional development, restorative practices, math, reading, and behavioral support, and serves on his school’s Equity Team. Andrew was named a City of Bloomington Teacher of the Year (2019-2020) and Outstanding Future Black Leader of Tomorrow (2023) by the City of Bloomington Commission on the Status of Black Males. He volunteers for Big Brothers Big Sisters of South-Central Indiana and serves on the Board of Directors for Monroe County Youth Football. Andrew earned a BS in kinesiology from Indiana University Bloomington and MA in online teaching and learning from Indiana Wesleyan University.
