Nina McLean is a 2026-2027 Teach Plus Illinois Affinity Group Network Partner and assistant principal at Officer Elementary School in East St. Louis, Illinois. She leads her building Multi-Tiered System of Supports team, behavior team, and attendance improvement team. Nina is a lieutenant colonel in the United States Army Reserve. She was named Southern Illinois Region Teacher of the Year (2025–2026) and received the Ameren Excellence in Teaching Award (2024). She earned a BA in education from Western Illinois University, MA in educational administration from McKendree University, and is pursuing a PhD in education at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
