Megan Whalon is a 2019-20 Teach Plus Texas Senior Fellow. She teaches Spanish and French at CAST Tech High School in San Antonio, where she is on the PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Support) team and is department chair for world languages. She co-sponsors a Diversity Club to promote the study of other cultures and languages. Prior to opening CAST Tech, Megan spent seven years at Lanier High School in Austin, TX where she taught French, Spanish, coached soccer, was on the PBIS team, the tech team, the Campus Advisory Council, and started a crochet club. Megan taught for two years in a suburb of Rochester, NY before moving to Texas. Megan was Teacher of the Year for CAST Tech for the 2017-2018 school year and was nominated by the Texas Foreign Language Association to be an Emerging Leader at the Leadership Initiative for Language Learning. She graduated from State University of New York College at Brockport with a BA in French and Spanish and received her MEd from Texas State in Secondary Education with a concentration in educational technology.
