Erean Mei is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus Illinois Early Childhood Educator Senior Policy Fellow who teaches kindergarten at KIPP Academy Chicago Primary in Chicago, Illinois. She previously taught Head Start and other grade levels and has been a director of a childcare facility. Throughout her career, she has facilitated professional development and parent workshops specifically on behavior management, de-escalation and building social-emotional skills with young children. Erean has a BA from Northern Illinois University in psychology, an MEd in instructional leadership: early childhood education from University of Illinois at Chicago with a Type 4 Teaching certificate and an early childhood special education endorsement, and an English as a second language endorsement from Roosevelt University.
