Melinda Hopkins is a 2018-19 Teach Plus Indiana Teaching Policy Fellow. Melinda teaches 9th grade English and etymology at the Carroll Freshman Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where she serves on the district’s curriculum alignment team and has earned Google Level 1 Certification. She serves on Carroll’s school safety committee and was previously certified as a school safety specialist. Melinda holds the position of treasurer for the Northwest Allen Teachers’ Association and chairs a committee sponsoring a scholarship fund. She holds a BS in pre-Professional English from Ball State University, Teacher Certification from Indiana Purdue University Fort Wayne, and a MA in Secondary Education and Administrative Licensure from Indiana Wesleyan University.
