Melissa Mullins is a Teach Plus Indianapolis Teaching Policy Fellow. Melissa teaches 1st grade at Riverside Elementary School, where she also serves as a T3 Teacher Leader. A teacher in the Indianapolis Public Schools since 2002, Melissa is a four-time Riverside Teacher of the Year and a 2015 Top Ten Teacher of the Year finalist. Melissa sponsors before and after school exercise programs, community garden, and serves on the district Evaluation Steering Committee. She graduated with Bachelors in Elementary Education from Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis and a Masters in Special Education from Ball State University.
