Melissa Shaw is a Teach Plus Colorado Teaching Policy Fellow. Melissa teaches 7th grade social studies in Pagosa Springs, Colorado, where she works as a group leader for international student travel. She is the school’s 5-8 social studies curriculum implementation and reading intervention program implementation lead, lead teacher for adventure education, and group facilitator of common assignment system. Melissa was selected as a finalist for the adult role model campaign and presented at the Growing Together Summit as Inspirational Teacher of the Year. She holds a BA in History and Education with a minor in Sociology from Colorado Mesa University and a MEd in Educational Leadership from the American College of Education.
