Michael Coughlin is a 2021-2022 Teach Plus Massachusetts Policy Fellow who teaches 7th and 8th grade science at the Dr. Albert F. Argenziano School in Somerville. Michael sponsors a coding club and a rocket science club on his campus and has previously led his Future City Civil Engineering Club to nationals in Washington, D.C. He has served on the Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS) Assessment Development Committee for the 8th grade Science, Technology, and Engineering test and he was named Pre-College Educator of the Year by the Boston Society of Civil Engineers in 2017. He graduated cum laude with a BS in chemical engineering and biotechnology from Tufts University and an MEd in middle school science education from Northeastern University.
