Michelle Velez is working on using the Common Core standards to build up teacher knowledge and confidence. Michelle teaches 3rd grade general education at Jose De Diego Community Academy where she leads the upper primary teams as a math coach and Achievement Network math leader. Michelle is a member of the Multi-Tiered Support Systems committee and helps support Tier 2 and Tier 3 students schoolwide. Michelle graduated from Miami University with a BS in Mass Communications and received her MEd in elementary education from DePaul University.
