Michelle Youngblood Jarman

Michelle Youngblood Jarman is a Teach Plus Los Angeles Teaching Policy Fellow. Michelle teaches 8th grade language and literature in the Eagle Rock Gifted Magnet, where she is the yearbook advisor and co-sponsor of the graduating class of 2017. A National Board Certified teacher, Michelle has served as an elected member of the school site council, as well on the instructional leadership team and the safety committee & search/rescue team.  In 2015, she was recognized as one of United Way’s 25 Most Inspirational Teachers to Watch in LAUSD and is the 2015-2016 LAUSD Teacher of the Year. A teacher since 1996, Michelle has taught with the Peace Corps in the Russian Far East, in several language schools in Ireland, and at the Aspect Language School at Woodbury University in Burbank.  She earned a dual BA in English and Education from the University of Montana.
