Michelle Zurita-Sharpe is a 2021-2022 Teach Plus Illinois Early Childhood Educator Policy Fellow and a blended pre-kindergarten special education teacher at Blair Early Childhood Center in Chicago. She also provides private after school tutoring and works as a college and career coach for foster-care involved youth at TasselTurn. Prior to these roles, she worked as a HeadStart teacher at Gads Hill Albany Childcare Center and as a community resource coordinator program assistant at Jordan Elementary Community School for AmeriCorp/Youth Guidance. Michelle is an active member of the Golden Apple of Illinois Scholars Program and the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Michelle received her BS in Early Childhood Special Education with a minor in Education Policy Studies and an ESL endorsement from Loyola University Chicago.
