Mimi Yong is a 2025-2026 Teach Plus Illinois Affinity Group Facilitator and social worker at Wood View Elementary School in Bolingbrook, IL. Mimi’s passions include supporting students who have experienced trauma, challenges with emotional regulation, and are still developing healthy social relationships. She works to foster a community of belonging and encourages students to be their truest selves. Mimi previously served as an Equity Ambassador Leader at Lyons Township High School as well as a board member on the CommUNITY Diversity Group of LaGrange. She earned a BA in psychology from Indiana University Bloomington and her MA in social service administration from the University of Chicago.
