Shara Minton is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus Mississippi Policy Fellow. She teaches 7th-grade U.S. history at Oxford Middle School in Oxford, Mississippi. She focuses on teaching children in the areas of developing historical research and analysis skills, speaking skills, writing skills, interpersonal skills, and character development. Shara has served as her school’s Faculty Council representative, a mentor, a PLC leader, a department chair, and the school’s Beta Club, Science Bowl, and Green Team leaders. Shara was named Oxford Middle School and Oxford School District’s Employee of the Year, Teacher of the Month, and a participant in the Ford Theatre’s Teacher Fellowship program. Shara is an Apple Learning Teacher and Coach, a certified Level 2 Google Educator, and a certified Microsoft Educator. She earned her BA in psychology and an MEd in secondary social studies education from the University of Mississippi.
