Molly Cooks is a 2018-19 Teach Plus Illinois Change Agent Teacher Leader. Molly is a 4th grade special education teacher at Joseph E. Gary Elementary School, where she also teaches in the Multi-tied Systems of Support (MTSS) after-school intervention program and serves as a mentor teacher to new teachers. Molly is a member of the school’s instructional leadership team, special education team, and is the MTSS coordinator for the school. She has participated in the Continuous Improvement Work Plan (CIWP) committee and collaborated with colleagues and administration to develop the school’s goals for the 2017-2018 school year. In 2017, Molly earned her National Board Certification in the Exceptional Needs category. She graduated from Michigan State University with a BS in Psychology and received her Med in elementary and special education from DePaul University.
