Monica Rojas is a 2021-2022 Teach Plus Illinois Policy Fellow and a 6th grade Bilingual English Language Arts and Science teacher at Ofc. Donald J. Marquez School in Chicago. Monica is part of her campus’ Professional Solutions Committee, Anti-racist Committee, and GSA. She is also an active member of the Chicago Teachers Union’s Charter Division, United Educators for Justice, where she advocates for Bilingual Education and Equitable Education policies for BIPOC students. She is an AFT- Chicago Teachers Union Policy Fellow. She represents the IFT on the ISBE Professional Review Panel and the State Educator Preparation and Licensure Board, and has previously taught in Chicago Public Schools, and served as English Language Program Teacher (Bilingual Coordinator) at O.T. Bright Elementary School. She graduated from Trinity Christian College with a BA in Elementary Education.
