Karen Moss-Newburn is a 2024-2025 Teach Plus Arkansas Policy Fellow and a K-5 gifted and talented facilitator at Ridge Road Elementary in North Little Rock. She focuses on teaching children in the areas of giftedness, letting them explore their passions, and encouraging self-directed learning through collaborative and independent projects. Karen has served on her building-level leadership team for the past four years and currently serves on the Superintendent’s Advisory Board for her district. She has earned NIET’s Lead Professional Educator Designation where she will lead and support her colleagues from the classroom through training and on-site coaching that builds instructional expertise. Karen was named North Little Rock School District’s Teacher of the Year and Ridge Road Elementary’s Teacher of the Year (2022-2023). She earned her BA in early childhood education and an MEd in gifted and talented education from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
