Emily Muellenberg is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus Colorado Policy Fellow. Emily is a social studies teacher at Grandview High School in Aurora, Colorado. She works with groups such as Link Crew and Student Leadership as well as student-lead groups working on issues of equity and community engagement. She spent the first 17 years of her teaching career in a neighboring district teaching English and social studies, working on curriculum and building leadership teams, and coaching soccer. Emily has been nominated for district Apple awards throughout the years and was the student/staff selected graduation speaker for the class of 2018. Emily has worked with the American Federation of Teachers as a conference presenter and a liaison with their Gun Violence Prevention movements, partnering with Brady and TeamEnough. She has also served on the Colorado Commissioner of Education’s Teacher Cabinet. She holds a BA in History and English and an MA in Teaching from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas.
