Kim Murphy is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus Mississippi Policy Fellow. She is the 9th-12th grade special education inclusion educator at Gautier High School in Gautier, Mississippi. She is the freshman class sponsor and has been involved in the teacher mentoring program at GHS. She has been the senior class sponsor and PTO treasurer and has helped with various committees on campus. She was the recipient of the Star Teacher Award. Kim began her teaching career in Ocean Springs, Mississippi as a special education high school teacher, and in 2019 she earned her National Board Certification. She earned her BS in SPED mild/moderate from the University of Southern Mississippi and her MEd in SPED mild/moderate K-12 from William Carey University.
