Nate Lewallen is a Teach Plus Greater Boston Teaching Policy Fellow. He is a 7th and 8th grade science teacher in a special education inclusion setting at the Mary Lyon in Boston Public Schools. Previously, Nate worked with McKinley Schools, a therapeutic setting for children diagnosed with emotional and behavioral disorders, where he served on the instructional leadership team developing instructional practices and interventions to improve school quality. He has piloted positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS) in his classroom and has led the implementation of PBIS practices schoolwide. He is certified in integrated sciences, elementary education, English as a second language, and moderate disabilities for grades 5 through 12. Nate received a BS in Psychology and Biology from Portland State University and an MEd from Boston College.
