Nitasha Walder is a 2021-2022 Teach Plus Texas Policy Fellow who teaches Special Education at Thurgood Marshall Elementary School in Richardson, Texas. Nitasha is a member of the district Teacher Initiative Allotment committee and the district Mentor program for new teachers. Nitasha taught 5th grade math for 12 years and has been a mentor with University of Texas at Dallas’s UTeach program. She is a current Texas Education Policy Institute fellow and the Legislative chair for Richardson Area Alliance of Black School Educators (RAABSE). She graduated with a BA in Psychology from Grambling State University and received her MA in Professional Development from Amberton University.
