Jason Orr is a 2026-2027 Teach Plus Pennsylvania Belonging, Empowerment, and Mentorship Network Facilitator. He is a 7th and 8th grade social studies educator in the Propel Charter School District in Pittsburgh. Jason has more than 15 years of teaching experience and serves as the Middle School Lead Teacher. Previously, he taught 4th grade English language arts and social studies at the Shuman Juvenile Detention Center. Jason was a member of the Shifting Power in Research and Development cohort and participated in the Practices of Freedom Initiative sponsored by the University of Pittsburgh. He presented at the South By Southwest Education Conference in Austin (2022). Jason earned his BS in teacher education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
