Angel Osorio Pizarro is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus Pennsylvania Policy Fellow. Angel is an early elementary educator at Pan American Academy Charter School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he began his teaching journey as a Teach for America corps member. As a homeroom teacher in his International Baccalaureate dual language school, Angel focuses on educating in the areas of Spanish and English literacy, as well as social and physical sciences in order to foster criticality, curiosity, and empathy. He is also a middle school running coach and helps maintain the school garden. Angel focuses on research and recommendations that promote rigorous pre-service training for incoming teachers. He earned his BS in cognitive sciences from Yale University, and an MEd in urban education from the University of Pennsylvania.
