Andrea Parker is a 2022-2023 Teach Plus Illinois Affinity Group Facilitator and a middle school reading teacher and drama club coach at Robert Fulton Elementary School in Chicago. She focuses on teaching scholars how to integrate English Language Arts into daily life skills and preparing students how to advocate for themselves, their school, and community. Andrea is an alumna of the Teach Plus Illinois Policy Fellowship and Change Agent programs. She was named Chicago WGN News April 2022 Teacher of the Month and was a Golden Apple nominee. Andrea is a member of the Chicago Teachers Union Executive Board and serves as a Framework Specialist for Chicago Public Schools. Andrea earned a BS in Journalism from Southern Illinois University Carbondale, an MA in Elementary Education from Chicago State University, and an MA and EdD in Educational Leadership from the American College of Education.
