Nicole Pasillas is a 2022-2023 Teach Plus Colorado Policy Fellow. Nicole teaches 11th grade AP Government and 9th grade world history at KIPP Northeast Denver Leadership Academy in Green Valley Ranch, Colorado. She leads a cultural club called Journey Through Our Heritage that partners with MSU Denver. It is a unique multicultural educational program that teaches curriculum in the areas of African American, Native American, Chicano/a, Mexicana/o, American, and Latina/o studies. The program also connects students with learning opportunities to connect with college preparation. Nicole has also served on the Whole Child Team at Overland Trail Middle School and coached multiple sports. Nicole Pasillas was named, “Resident of the Year,” for PEBC (Public Education Business Coalition) for her Alternative Teaching Pathway 2021-2022. She earned a BA in Human Performance and a minor in Business Marketing from Metropolitan State University of Denver.
